Sunhat was founded to transform how companies manage and share sustainability data with both internal teams and external stakeholders. We believe technology is essential in closing the gap between rising ESG demands and the ability to deliver trustworthy, audit-ready proof. By streamlining every step — from mapping requirements to preparing and maintaining documentation — Sunhat empowers sustainability teams to work faster, stay compliant, and strengthen stakeholder trust with reliable, verifiable information.

With Lukas, Ali & Alex

Where it all started

While working at his previous company, a European venture capital firm, Lukas encountered the tedious process of answering sustainability questionnaires. He was eager to find a solution and discussed the problem with Ali and Alex, two tech-savvy friends from his network. When he approached them, Ali was working in B2B SaaS at an enterprise architecture management company and Alex was driving business innovation on the corporate side by implementing automation software.

After talking to dozens of companies, they discovered that sustainability teams spend hours responding to various questionnaires from customers and other stakeholders using emails and cloud documents. The manual and clunky processing often exceeded the capacity of the responsible teams. Lukas, Ali and Alex decided to join forces to create a better way for companies to manage the ever-increasing sustainability demands.

And that's how Sunhat was created.
